CaseChat is a private professional network where laboratory medicine and pathology professionals discuss cases, ask colleagues for opinions and share teaching material. It is for education and peer discussion. It is not a medical service, not an emergency channel, and nothing posted here is a substitute for your own clinical judgment or for a formal consultation. Do not use it for urgent patient care decisions.
Terms of use
What CaseChat is
Who can use it
Accounts are for healthcare and laboratory professionals and are approved by an administrator before they work. Give accurate information when you register and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Patient privacy
Do not post anything that identifies a patient: no names, dates of birth, health card or record numbers, addresses, or images that show them. Remove identifiers from files and pictures before you upload them. CaseChat warns you when text looks like it contains an identifier, but that check is only a help. It cannot catch everything, and you remain responsible for what you post.
How to behave
- Be professional and respectful. No harassment, discrimination or spam.
- Post only material you have the right to share, and do not copy other people's work without permission.
- Treat what you read here as confidential to the people it was shared with. Do not pass private cases, groups or messages on.
- Do not try to get around access rules, probe the service for weaknesses, or collect other members' details.
Moderation
Members can report cases, comments and messages. Moderators and administrators can remove content and suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. A moderator can read a private case, message or discussion only when something in it has been reported, and that access is logged. We may also remove content or accounts where the law requires it.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you allow CaseChat to store it and show it to the people you chose to share it with, so that the service can work. You can retract or delete your own cases and comments.
No warranty
CaseChat is provided as it is. Opinions posted by members are theirs, and may be wrong. To the extent the law allows, CaseChat and its operators are not liable for decisions made or harm caused by relying on content or on the service. We may change or stop the service, and we will tell members about changes that matter.
